Quite a lot has been happening recently, even if we have not been sharing updates regularly. Over the past weeks, work has focused on the study of existing archaeological collections and documentation rather than on new fieldwork.
We have started reviewing materials from the oppidum of Závist deposited in the Prague archives, concentrating on selected artefact groups and their analytical potential. At the same time, we had the opportunity to study artefacts from the oppidum of Staré Hradisko in the collections in Brno, in connection with a lecture delivered to PhD students at Masaryk University. This visit allowed for direct examination of finds that are central to ongoing analytical work.
These activities form part of the broader research framework of the Between the Celts and the Northern People project, which focuses on re-examining material from well-known sites using current analytical approaches.
The upcoming posts will be devoted primarily to Staré Hradisko, presenting selected finds and observations emerging from this ongoing work.
