Brodno Revisited

We have begun work on the material from the large pre-Roman Iron Age settlement at Brodno (Środa Śląska commune), excavated between 1974 and 1976 by Karol Bykowski of the University of Wrocław.

Although partially published in Śląskie Sprawozdania Archeologiczne, the site archives include many unpublished finds – notably ceramics and domestic architecture elements. Our current focus is on cataloguing, vessel typology, and settlement context analysis. Brodno is a key site for understanding late La Tène occupation in the Lower Silesian region.
